Sex vs gender identity

What is the difference between assigned
sex and gender identity?

Gender identity is a feeling of being masculine, feminine, both, neither or
something entirely different. Genitals don't decide gender. Some people with
a penis don't want to be called male and some people with a vulva don't
want to be called female.

How do you talk about assigned sex at
birth and be inclusive?

When we talk about bodies, use language that ALL people can identify
with like:

  • Assigned male, body with a penis, or testosterone-based body.
  • Assigned female, body with a vulva, or estrogen-based body.
