What are condoms?

Condoms are barriers that either go over the penis, in the vagina, or in the anus.

How do condoms prevent pregnancy and STIs?

  • Condoms, prevent pregnancy by stopping sperm from entering the vagina. 
     
  • Condoms reduce sexually transmitted infections (STIs) by decreasing or preventing contact between skins and body fluids.
     
  • Condoms can be used for oral, vaginal, or anal sex. They are made of latex or non-latex materials.

Where can I get condoms?

In Yukon, you can buy condoms at a pharmacy, grocery store or gas station. 
You can get them for free at health centers, Yukon Communicable Diseases Control, or Blood Ties 4 Directions.
